Homecoming Talk: True and Lasting Joy
Hello! Brothers and Sisters! My name is Devyn Pischer. I recently returned from my mission in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. I want to share with you what I learned from this amazing experience. I want to start out by asking a couple questions that you can think about in your head. Why does missionary work exist? What is the purpose of missionary work? Well there is an answer! When we turn in Preach My Gospel page 1, it states the missionary purpose, which is to “Invite Others to Come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored through faith In Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.” Now let's look at God's purpose. In the Pearl of Great Price in the Book of Moses Chapter 1 Verse 39, it says, “For behold, this is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” These purposes are the same.
