St. Quentin get ready!
Bonjour!
What a week! Finished up my time at the MTC with a bang and with the greatest district ever. Going to miss them a ton. All our teachers were amazing too. Also I meet so many awesome people that I am happy to call my friends! So many good memories! How did I get so lucky? Elder Ballard came and spoke at a devotional which was super cool. I loved hearing from him.
We left for France last Monday! It was crazy! I rode my first train and I loved it! Oh so funny and crazy with fourteen missionaries! We took the trains to the airport, which took us three hours to get to the airport! The craziest thing happened when we I was at the airport, I ran into one of my friends and her brother from Wyoming! She called my name and I was like what?! I literally starting crying when I saw her. I was so grateful to see friendly faces. I also got to talk to my family. It was so good to hear all their voices. I have missed them. ❤
The plan ride took around 9 hours... longest plane ride ever. But it was fun, I got to practice my french with an elder and realized I learned nothing in school. Jk I knew a lot before practicing but I learned a lot from that elder as well. Slept for three hours. Not the best idea but whatever.
Now in France! I was so excited! I was finally in France! Oh how I have been waiting for this day. It was so awesome to have a great mission president and his wife come meet us and help us. They are the best. The first day was packed with things. We drove to the mission office where we had interviews and for first time contacting people. That was scary. But really cool. We didn't find a lot of people so we decided to pray. I said it and bam. Someone and we got her info too! Then we went to dinner at the mission home then off the glorious sleep. Next day was the best. We got up and went to the temple! It is so beautiful and big! We only got to see the visitor center and the garden. But from what I did see, it is a beautiful places. Temples are truly a house of the Lord. Then it was time to meet our trainers. We did a little meeting then bam! areas assigned and off we went! I am serving in St. Quentin or my bleuville with my awesome trainer Soeur Nickerson. She is awesome and has been in the mission for two transfers. Also the ville is so beautiful! I love the members and the people here.
We are actually the only two missionaries in st. Quentin right now. There use to be elders but since we didn't have a tom of elders come in they had to take some elders out and so we don't have any here... scary. But we can do it! There is a reason for everything. We have had a few rendezvous or lessons this week. I didn't say or understand much but whatever. We have a ton more this week!
My french is coming along. I was scared this week a lot to talk in french but with help from my trainer and God, things can happen. Apparently the French people here think i speak well! I don't sound like an american! Also someone when we were contacting asked me if I was French! Also I have learned a lot of new words and phrases here that aren't taught back home. There is no better learning like actually being in France!
I wish I could write more but that would be a long email! Just remember I love you and so does Heavenly Father! Talk to you all next week!
À bientôt!
