I Survived!!
Hello Friends!
I have survived my first few days here at the MTC. It has been a blast so far and can't wait to tell you more next friday.
On Wednesday morning, I don't think I was nervous anymore to leave but just sad to leave people. I just want to get my new adventure started. I was really sad to leave my family at the airport and I am glad I got to see some of them right before I left. I wasn't afraid to get on the plane, I was actually kind of excited. I was totally lost however when I was going through security but I'm glad that my practice run was with a somewhat small airport of Laramie. Let me tell you about the first plane ride, btws first time ever being on a plane. I thought it was so fun!! I love flying! And my second one was even better since on that one I meet a fellow missionary who was going to the MTC. Also DIA was so cool to see! I loved walking around that place and I didn't get lost.
The missionary that I meet was an Elder Colgrove from Oklahoma and we just became friends from DIA all the way to MTC. His ride to the MTC was kind enough to let me tag along and even feed me lunch. They are the kindest people ever and I am so grateful that I got to see meet.
Then came the MTC. It was crazy!! So many cars EVERYWHERE! On the Wednesday there was about 700 new missionaries. JUST ON THAT ONE DAY! That was the largest number of incoming missionaries to date for the MTC. Also when we were driving up, a man came to the window and asked if it would be ok if we were on tv. There might be a chance I am on TV with my Oklahoma friend. Look out for Sister Pischer somewhere on something.
When you get to the MTC, it is go, go, go! I didn't have time to relax at all! However I was grateful to get started. I meet my district and I love them! We are such a cool bunch. Since we are in ADL class, as advance class, we all are from different places all over the world, and we are such a diverse group of people. We have grown to be like a family and it is so fun being with them. There are even two more additional sisters going to France with me! Our class is taught in English so we have to practice our French on our own since we will only be at the MTC for three weeks.... we better get started.
We are mainly in classes most of the day getting taught to be the best missionaries we can be. Even though it has only been a few days, I haved learned so much about being a missionary. We are taught to love the people since we are to teach them about the Gospel. We tailor everything we do for others, we are here to help bring people unto Chirst.
Since we didn't find out who are companions were until yesterday, my first "companion" was Sister Burrup. She is from Colorado and I absolutely LOVE her. We have a lot in common and we clicked right from the get go. However my fist official companion is Sister Bookwalter! She is extremely smart and is really good at French. I hope I can learn a lot from her. Sister Burrup and Bookwalter are the two sisters going to France with me! Also yesterday we had our first meeting with our Branch President. I was assigned to be Senior Companion and Service Shift Coordinator! I am really excited to have these callings and to to trying and figure out how to do them!
Since today is our first P day! We are trying to get all our assignments done and do fun things. We get to go to the Provo temple today with our Branch which will be fun to get to know the other sisters.
I'm sorry for not a lot of pictures yet but I will have more in the future! I will talk to you all next week!
Talk to you soon!
